This project improves various roadway segments currently served by Exit 22, on Interstate 95, in the City of Providence. Overall, this project includes a new highway ramp serving Providence Place (formerly Kinsley Avenue), improvements to portions of Dean Street, Providence Place, Memorial Boulevard, and Francis Street, as well as the ramps feeding Routes 6/10 from both direction of the Interstate.
To expedite completion of this project, the design improvements were divided into those elements both east and west of I-95. Work, east of I-95, was designed and coordinated by Maguire Group, Inc. of Providence. Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc., also of Providence, led the work west of I-95, as well as serving as the overall Project Manager for this complex design.
Besides the various roadway improvements, design work also included traffic management and control, environmental and historical coordination and permitting, and construction support services.
