Rhode Island Department of Transportation
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is the contracting agency
and as such leads the design and construction effort for this major complex project.
All work is done under their direction and jurisdiction.
Federal Highway Administration
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) as the primary funding agency
for this work actively participates in the design review and provides project
development oversight services.
Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.
As the lead consultant on the I-95 Ramps Improvement Project,
VHB is overseeing the complete design effort and is responsible
for hazardous materials cleanup, designing and
phasing of construction of the new ramps, including design of traffic
management during the intensive construction period, designing improvements
to Dean Street, Kinsley Avenue, and the ramps to Routes 6 and 10.
Maguire Group, Inc.
The Maguire Group is providing professional design services to develop roadway and traffic signal improvement plans for Memorial Boulevard, Francis Street, Route 6/10 Connector, and the I-95 northbound exit ramp to downtown.
They are also responsible for all environmental permitting on this project.
Lin Associates, Inc.
Lin Associates is providing professional design services to develop final design plans for temporary bridge structures for traffic control during construction and permanent wall structures. They are also assisting with the design of the new ramp.
GZA Geoenvironmental, Inc.
GZA is providing professional geotechnical services to include subsurface soil sampling, soil/foundation analysis, and design consultation for the construction of the ramp and wall structures associated with the interchange improvements.
Arnold Engineering, Inc.
Arnold Engineering is providing professional services associated with developing a design schedule, determining the feasibility of multiple construction contracts, construction time determination, and monitoring of construction schedule.
Diane C. Soule & Associates, Inc.
Diane C. Soule & Associates, Inc. is providing professional landscape architectural services to develop a landscaping plan that will incorporate the characteristics of the existing landscape into the proposed roadway improvement plans.
The Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc.
The Public Archaeology Laboratory, is providing professional services to prepare the Provisions Warehouse Historic District Historic American Building Survey documentation necessary to allow RIDOT to acquire property for the interchange improvements.
Antonio P. Franco & Associates, Inc.
Antonio P. Franco & Associates, is providing professional engineering services to develop final design plans for new highway lighting associated with the interchange improvements and the relocation of existing electrical utilities within the project area.
Tensor Engineering, Inc.
Tensor Engineering, Inc. is providing structural steel detailing design and preparing construction shop drawings.
