It is the goal of the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan to provide consistency and integration of transportation and land use decisions and to identify funding strategies for the development of the plan. The plan will incorporate the bicycle/pedestrian improvements indentified in each of the local jurisdiction’s plans and promote connectivity and consistency between the systems. The plan will provide an inventory of existing and planned facilities and will synthesize the various bicycle and pedestrian activities related to safety, connectivity, health, education, and environmental concerns. The Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan will be consistent with the Lee County Smart Growth and Complete Streets Act of 2009 and the Florida Conserve by Bike Program.
