Connected to Our Communities
Giving Back

How do VHB employees create benefits for our communities? Through stewardship, within the community. Whether serving on a town board, volunteering at the local food pantry, or mentoring students from local schools, VHB employees strive to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

VHB also provides financial support to those organizations in our communities that need it most. Over the last 30 years, we have raised more than $2 million for non-profit organizations. Donations from staff and the firm have benefited organizations such as the Jimmy Fund, the Watertown Food Pantry, the Make a Wish Foundation, and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children — to name a few. In 2008, VHB raised and donated more than $300,000 to many charitable organizations in the communities where we work and live through both VHB sponsored charity events and our staff’s generosity. During our 17th Annual VHB-Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament more than $100,000 was donated to the Jimmy Fund to provide support for cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. VHB’s total donation to the Jimmy Fund since the tournaments inception is more than $599,000.

Charities and organizations selected by staff to benefit from donations in 2009 include the Watertown Food Pantry, Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Perkins School for the Blind, The Home for Little Wanderers, and Rosie's Place.
