Organization

The Lang Administration is conducting the Master Plan as an inclusive community planning effort, believing that a community’s greatest resources are its local residents, where every citizen is viewed as a stakeholder and encouraged to participate.

The City’s Office of Planning will manage the project, coordinate with the team of consultants who will write the plan, and facilitate the civic engagement portion. The Office of the Mayor has appointed a Steering Committee to guide the visioning process and overall direction of the effort, while assisting with civic engagement.

The Steering Committee members were chosen based upon their expertise and knowledge of various aspects of city life including education, economic development, neighborhoods, youth, immigration, environment, public safety, historic preservation, etc.

A collective process generates a creative energy and a cooperative environment that not only creates a better-informed and enlightened community, but better realized community objectives. The vitality and successful future of this community depends on a valued, active and involved citizenry and we strongly urge everyone to participate in the first master planning process in almost 50 years!
