Eric Hartmann joins VHB as the new CFO.

VHB is pleased to welcome a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Eric Hartmann, who is replacing long-term CFO John Jackson, retiring in late March of this year.

A dynamic financial leader, Hartmann has been fostering the growth and financial success of CDM Smith, a high-profile, privately-owned engineering and construction firm, for 30 years. From General Ledger Accountant, to VP of Finance and then CFO, Hartmann made an impact at all levels, achieving operational excellence, growth, and improved profitability and shareholder value.

Most recently, Hartmann held the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Planning and Reporting Officer at CDM Smith. In this role he was a key-player in helping transform the firm to be more data-informed, leading data governance and data warehouse projects, and providing access to data to drive decision making.

As VHB’s CFO, Hartmann is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of VHB. He provides leadership and coordination for all financial administration, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company, consistent with VHB’s strategic plan. A key member of VHB’s leadership team, Hartmann will play an important role in charting VHB’s strategic planning, growth, and performance.

“We have been thoughtfully and thoroughly planning our future CFO needs—identifying a successor and structuring a smooth transition plan,” said Mike Carragher, President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am looking forward to this next chapter with Eric and am confident that his experience and leadership will help advance VHB’s growth and scale our generational company successfully.”

Hartmann is active in numerous professional associations and involved in local committees in his town of Swampscott, Massachusetts where he resides with his wife Marianne and two children. He received his Masters in Business Administration from University of Phoenix and his Bachelors of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University.
