Shenandoah National Park Road and Pavement Rehabilitation

Rockfish Gap and Front Royal, VA

Sometimes, the most beautiful views are found on the busiest roads. This is the case for Skyline Drive, the 105‑mile scenic road that runs the entire length of Shenandoah National Park. VHB partnered with the NPS to preserve and maintain existing roads, picnic/campground areas, overlooks, visitor center access roadways, and parking areas with new, sustainable designs that can stand up to the nearly 1.5 million people who visit each year. Now visitors will continue to enjoy those awe-inspiring views for years to come.
