StPete2050 Vision Plan

St. Petersburg, FL

St. Petersburg is a thriving and eclectic community of more than 260,000 residents with a vibrant downtown, beautiful neighborhoods, historic resources, miles of shoreline, world-class cultural institutions, award-winning parks and recreation systems, and unique destination districts. The City has a long history of being proactive about its future including frameworks created by John Nolen and Harland Bartholomew. Recently the City embarked on its next master planning effort – measuring progress attained from the 2020 Vision Plan and charting an expanded Vision for sustainable, resilient, and equitable growth through the next three decades. In recent years, the City worked to enable this next phase of the master planning process in conjunction with related efforts including the Integrated Sustainability Action Plan (ISAP), Integrated Water Resource Management Plan, Grow Smarter Strategy, and numerous special area plans.

The Vision 2050 Plan fully engaged the community and leverages existing assets and resources into actionable solutions that integrate the elements of land use, natural and cultural resources, watershed protection, housing, economic development, open space and recreation, public services and facilities, and transportation. The VHB-led team built upon the City’s past plans and engaged the community to turn the plan from a vision into reality.
