The repositioning of the Lakeville State Hospital will transform a dormant hospital into a vibrant residential community. This development will deliver 450 residential units that cater to a diverse array of housing needs, including multifamily, assisted living, memory care, and senior housing. Residents will benefit from community amenities such as public walking trails and recreational areas. Originally closed in 1992, the reimagined site will bring much needed housing solutions to the local and regional area.
VHB’s integrated services team navigated the development through complex design and permitting challenges. Our team conducted a comprehensive environmental assessment to address historical contamination in compliance with Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act requirements. In addition, we developed a master plan, which included site development plans for four distinct parcels, and secured permits from local agencies and the Town of Lakeville. As construction progresses, VHB will continue to focus on sustainability and environmentally conscious solutions that will enrich the Lakeville community.
