VHB is proud to announce that Amir Rizavi, Northeast Transportation Service Leader, has been elected to the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) International Board of Directors. Representing the Northeastern District, Amir will serve a three-year term from 2026 through 2028 as one of 16 members guiding policies for the organization, which connects transportation professionals worldwide and drives advancements in safe, efficient, and sustainable mobility.
With more than 26 years of involvement in ITE, Amir’s leadership has spanned every level of the organization—from revitalizing a dormant student chapter at UMass Amherst to serving as President of the Northeastern District. His appointment to the International Board is a natural progression of a longstanding commitment to advancing the transportation practice while nurturing the next generation of professionals.
“ITE has been instrumental in my personal and professional development,” said Amir. “I’m excited to help shape its future and support our members as we work to build a more connected, inclusive, and forward-thinking transportation community.”
At VHB, Amir directs transportation-focused projects and fosters collaboration across the organization, bringing together planning, engineering, and policy to help deliver solutions that move communities forward. His technical knowledge, vision, and dedication to mentorship have influenced both the projects he leads and the professionals he guides.
VHB congratulates Amir on this well-deserved milestone and looks forward to seeing the continued impact of his leadership across the profession.
