Elizabeth Phelps Named 2026-2027 WTS Triangle Chapter President

Elizabeth Phelps, PE, has been named President of the WTS North Carolina Triangle Chapter for the 2026–2027 term. As President, Elizabeth will lead the chapter’s Board of Directors, guiding initiatives to grow membership and strengthen the organization’s impact. She will oversee the development of programs focused on professional learning, networking, scholarships, youth outreach programs, and awards.

A structural engineer at VHB, Elizabeth brings more than a decade of experience providing structural design engineering for projects across the East Coast, including Long Bridge in Metro DC, the Bridge 95 Replacement in Haywood County, North Carolina, and three bridge redesigns for the I-95 and Route 10 project corridor in Providence, Rhode Island. Elizabeth has been an active leader with WTS since 2022, serving two years as Treasurer before stepping into the role of President-Elect from 2024–2025.
