This week, Transit & Rail Project Manager Maggie Maddox led a discussion at the WTS Connecticut Chapter’s annual Leadership and Mentorship Roundtable. The event featured a robust panel of senior industry leaders from both the public and private sectors who shared their perspectives on leadership within the transportation industry and offered insights into career growth, mentorship strategies, and industry trends.
Panelists touched on how mentorship can help bridge the skills gap between senior engineers and the next generation and shared strategies for staying motivated through professional challenges and change.
Maggie led the Networking and Personal Development small group discussion, which highlighted the importance of celebrating personal achievements outside of work and provided attendees with suggestions for how to expand their networking opportunities within the industry.
"I’m incredibly grateful for the many mentors who have guided me throughout my career, and it was a privilege to share my own path with the future leaders of WTS in Connecticut,” said Maggie. “The future is bright with groups like this, who lift each other up and always make time to mentor the next generation.”
