The International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI) is the world’s largest association of professionals in parking, mobility, and transportation. The Institute recently recognized VHB with accolades in two categories as part of their Awards of Excellence Program, which honors parking, mobility and transportation projects that further the industry through innovation, sustainability, and excellent customer experience.
The South State Street Garage won two prestigious IPMI awards: the Apex Awards for Architectural Design and Facility Design: Stand-Alone. The winners were announced at the 2025 IMPI Parking & Mobility Conference & Expo in Louisville, KY.
“We’re honored to receive this international recognition,” said Connecticut Director of Land Development Paul Vitaliano. “This project addresses a parking need that enhances the commuter experience along one of the nation’s busiest rail lines.”
The South State Street Parking Garage features more than 900 parking spaces, 92 electric vehicle charging stations, and 120 bicycle spaces, as well as a 320-foot pedestrian bridge. VHB partnered with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) to deliver site, traffic, and roadway design services for the project.
