The Boston Business Journal (BBJ) has again named VHB the Best Place to Work in Greater Boston. From the more than 200 businesses who responded to the publication’s annual survey, VHB was ranked the best place to work in the extra-large company category, based on employee survey responses. This marks the second consecutive year that VHB has secured the top spot. The Best Places to Work survey evaluates employees’ views on job satisfaction, career development, and company culture—including engagement, retention, teamwork, communication, and benefits.
Along with other regional leaders, New England Regional Manager Meredith Avery accepted the award on behalf of VHB, saying, “Earning the number one spot for the second year in a row is a truly meaningful honor, since it’s based on how our team members perceive their experience at VHB,” said Meredith. “It speaks to our strong people-focused workplace culture— investing in our people is at the core of everything we do. VHB remains dedicated to being a Generational Company that values individual contributions, innovation, and employee learning and development.”

VHB is proud to deliver a differentiating work experience for employees, offering several programs that engage and acknowledge team members, such as the Milestone Service Awards program, the RISE President’s Awards Program, and the Ignite Innovation Program. These initiatives foster creativity and new ideas for technology-enabled solutions that support clients, projects, and internal teams. Additionally, VHB’s employee-led philanthropic program, VHB Cares, allows each office to choose the charitable organizations they wish to support based on their personal interests and passions. VBay, VHB Cares’ biggest annual fundraising event since 1999, raised more than $84,000 this year for VHB-Cares-supported charities.
VHB’s excellent employee experience also includes a best-in-class benefits program that supports employees and their families throughout their lives. VHB offers a flexible, hybrid work environment and high quality medical, dental, and vision insurance programs, as well as more innovative programs such as AHealthyMe, a health and fitness platform, Ovia–on-demand maternity and family support, and free Care.com resources.
In addition to creating an inclusive, positive workplace environment, VHB remains committed to delivering outstanding service to our clients. VHB was recently recognized as a 2025 U.S. Best Managed Company, one of only two AEC firms to earn the designation. Sponsored by Deloitte Private* and The Wall Street Journal, the Best Managed Company program recognizes outstanding U.S. private companies demonstrating excellence in four key areas: strategy, ability to execute, corporate culture and governance/financial performance.
