The new Taystee Lab Building, an asset repositioning project which transformed an existing Taystee Bakery facility, recently celebrated its grand opening by holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by New York Governor Kathy Hochul. The building anchors the burgeoning Manhattanville Factory District in West Harlem, a master-planned development containing more than one million square feet of commercial and community space dedicated to innovation, life science research, and technology.

"The completion of the Taystee Lab Building is a milestone in the next chapter of Harlem's rich history," Governor Hochul said in a press release." As we continue to build back from the pandemic, today's investments that support our life science infrastructure will ensure that we are better prepared, better equipped and more resilient in the future."

VHB partnered with client, The Janus Property Company, to provide remedial action oversight and regulatory compliance through Site Investigation & Remediation services. The 11-story, transformational project combines the neighborhood’s industrial architecture with a creative spirit that will be attractive to innovative, academic, and creative tenants while celebrating Harlem’s important commercial and cultural zone.
