The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has selected VHB to provide operational support for the Statewide Transportation Management Center (STMC), helping advance transportation reliability, incident management, traveler information, and roadway safety across the Commonwealth. Under the five-year contract, VHB will support PennDOT's Traffic Management Center Operations Unit in strengthening the systems and coordination that keep Pennsylvania moving safely and efficiently.
Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the STMC provides a centralized view of conditions across Pennsylvania’s roadway network and serves as a hub for statewide coordination. Working alongside PennDOT staff and partner agencies, VHB will provide around-the-clock support for situational awareness, incident management, and traffic monitoring. The team will also coordinate with all of PennDOT's regional and district TMCs and other agencies to support informed responses as roadway conditions change.
