VHB is proud to announce that we will serve as the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (CTDOT) Consultant Liaison Engineering Services (CLE) for Bridge and Structure Design, delivering comprehensive support for bridge and structure replacements, rehabilitations and enhancements across the state.

This partnership underscores VHB’s longstanding relationship with CTDOT, for which VHB has delivered many projects providing and supporting everything from transportation master planning to bus rapid transit development to transit station design and much more. Additionally, VHB has successfully supported numerous bridge, highway and traffic design efforts, including complex design-build projects.

Under the CLE contract, VHB will act as an extension of CTDOT, identifying rehabilitation and replacement alternatives for bridges that are deficient or in need of repairs and managing the bridge projects from preliminary design all the way through construction. Our team will provide water resources, utility and right of way coordination, environmental permit preparation, traffic analysis, and design services and construction coordination for all bridge projects, delivering integrated services in a streamlined process for CTDOT.

Last year, VHB joined forces with Close, Jensen and Miller, P.C. (CJM), the firm that previously held the CLE contract for several decades. “Winning this opportunity is a testament to the client experience, expansive resources, and deep bench of structural professionals that our combined team can now offer CTDOT,” said Senior Program Manager Mark Levesque.
