VHB Transportation Planners Catherine Saine and Ian Hamilton, AICP, are partnering with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to host "The Value of Highway Safety Information System (HSIS) to the Next Generation of Researchers" webinar on Tuesday, July 28 at 12:00pm.

The session will focus on how researchers can leverage HSIS data to support academic studies, evaluate safety strategies, and develop solutions that improve transportation systems. Participants will learn about opportunities to engage with the broader transportation safety research community and gain insights from professionals who use safety data to inform real-world decisions.

Catherine and Ian are bringing together current and future transportation professionals around a shared goal to advance safety through data. The webinar is intended to be the first of many conversations highlighting the role of high-quality data in addressing today’s transportation safety challenges.

"Transportation safety research depends on reliable, accessible data," said Catherine. "This series is an opportunity to showcase the value of HSIS while helping professionals understand how data can be used to make an impact on road safety."

As transportation agencies, universities, and researchers continue to seek innovative ways to improve roadway safety, "The Value of HSIS to the Next Generation of Researchers" webinar offers a valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and help shape the future of safety research.
