The City of Philadelphia is advancing its commitment to eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries through its Vision Zero Capital Plan, funded by the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. To support this effort, the City partnered with VHB to prioritize and deliver safety investments across its roadway network.
Working closely with City staff, VHB refined tools that support early-stage capital planning and decision-making to more consistently prioritize and advance Vision Zero investments. This includes a practical framework to estimate investment needs and support long-range funding and programming decisions. VHB is also supporting priority corridor evaluations through a data-informed screening approach that identifies high-risk locations and guides targeted safety improvements.
These efforts help the City of Philadelphia take a more strategic and effective approach to advancing Vision Zero, supporting safer streets for everyone.
