Safety

Safety at VHB includes a diverse group of leaders who are passionate about saving lives and creating safer transportation systems by embracing a Safe System Approach.

Our team is comprised of safety practitioners, planners, data scientists, software engineers, and researchers who work together to develop comprehensive safety programs, plans, and strategies for all road users. With a data-informed approach, we’ve partnered with more than 100 federal, state, local, and tribal agencies across the United States to establish and advance safety management practices, improve data and analysis capabilities, evaluate projects and programs, conduct research, and develop guides for safer transportation planning and design.

VHB is dedicated to supporting our clients and partners in their efforts to reduce crashes, fatalities, and serious injuries that result on our nation’s transportation system. We take a Safe System Approach to safety management—considering all modes of transportation and all users. We go beyond traditional methods by integrating technology, assessing equity and disparities in historically disadvantaged populations, and considering public health outcomes.
