New Hampshire Municipalities

Empowering New Hampshire Communities to Create a Safer, More Sustainable Future.

VHB’s NH office is proud to provide continuous service to our local municipalities, building on more than 40 years of experience delivering across a variety of services. Our Bedford office includes a multi-disciplinary, municipal-focused team that specializes in understanding and serving the needs of New Hampshire’s municipalities.

VHB’s Bedford office is home to more than 90 team members, including 47 certified New Hampshire professional engineers, nine Local Public Agency (LPA) certified staff, and three certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE). Creating a positive and lasting impact on New Hampshire's cities and towns is our priority. We collaborate closely with municipalities to strengthen the state's thriving economy, enhance local communities, and safeguard valuable environmental resources.

Through on-call contracts, VHB is actively partnering with local New Hampshire regional planning commissions (RPCs) including the Southern New Hampshire PC, Rockingham Planning Commission and Nashua RPC, and municipalities including the Towns of Exeter, Salem, Goffstown, Durham, Amherst, and Bedford and the Cities of Concord, Manchester, and Lebanon. In addition to these on-calls contracts, we work across many other communities on a variety of other standalone projects, including the Madbury Road Complete Streets Project in Durham and the South Manchester Rail Trail in Manchester.

“VHB's specialized knowledge of the environmental review process, along with their early engagement with the appropriate environmental agencies, was vital in helping us progress the project forward through permitting to construction, avoiding costly setbacks in the process.”

We are proud to play a role in enhancing New Hampshire’s transportation and safety systems, local economies, and environmental resources. Together, our multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists have helped replace or rehabilitate deficient bridges and structures, construct safer, more accessible streets, restore and protect our natural resources, and revitalize downtown areas while embracing the aging infrastructure across the state.
