Baldwin Park

Orlando, FL

Baldwin Park transformed the former 1,100-acre Orlando Naval Training Center into one of the largest infill redevelopment projects in the United States—a vibrant, mixed-use community just minutes from downtown Orlando. When New Broad Street Management sought to reposition the shuttered training center into a sustainable community, VHB was engaged to help prepare the master development plan. Using time-tested principles of New Urbanism, our team designed a smart, healthy community with a mix of residential, commercial, and civic uses and created pedestrian friendly neighborhoods anchored by a neighborhood park. An open street network with more than 25 access points supports connectivity, reduces congestion, and integrates Baldwin Park into the surrounding city. Today, Baldwin Park is a powerful economic engine with some of the highest real estate values in the area.
