The Mayflower Retirement Community is a continuing care retirement facility that offers independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing facilities. Since 2005, VHB has served as the engineer-of-record for this community and has led the design of multiple site improvements on this 17-acre campus, creating a welcoming setting for residents, staff, and visitors. Major projects include planning and permitting a 90,000-square-foot health care facility, adding parking to accommodate residents and visitors, and enhancing the landscape to create connectivity and a more cohesive campus.
Most recently, VHB’s landscape architects designed a vibrant Memory Garden with walking paths, seating areas, special paving, fountains, raised planters, and lawn areas planted with environmentally friendly species. The team incorporated all five senses into the design, providing an immersive experience that supports resident well-being and enriches the daily life of the Mayflower community.
