Revolution Wind Farm

Rhode Island

Revolution Wind Farm, a 704-megawatt offshore wind farm project planned for federal waters off the coast of Rhode Island, will provide enough clean, renewable energy to power more than 350,000 homes in Rhode Island (400 MW) and Connecticut (304 MW). The Revolution Wind Farm promises to be a “catalyst” for clean energy across the region, and VHB is proud to support Orsted & Eversource’s commitment to promoting Rhode Island and Connecticut as leaders in the offshore wind industry.

VHB managed and developed the Construction and Operations Plan and all federal, state, and local permitting efforts for this renewable energy project, which will help both states reach their ambitious clean energy goals. By combining a deep understanding of the energy industry with engineering and permitting excellence, VHB has helped Revolution Wind navigate challenging regulatory waters to obtain permits and achieve its Record of Decision, allowing construction to advance on schedule.

VHB manages a large, diverse team of subconsultants, leveraging the proven experience of each to maintain the alignment of offshore and onshore project components while supporting individual and programmatic meetings with federal and state regulatory agencies and municipalities. VHB also provides ecological, engineering, land survey, acoustic assessment, and contaminated soil assessment services for the project.
