The Lemon Stream Dam Removal project, funded in part by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) grants, aims to enhance the ecological health of Lemon Stream by removing an existing dam and restoring natural stream flow and fish passage. Situated in critical habitat for endangered Atlantic salmon, this project is subject to stringent compliance requirements under the Endangered Species Act, including a Section 7 consultation. The primary objective is to restore the natural habitat and fish passage for endangered Atlantic Salmon.
VHB is providing full engineering and design services for removal of the dam, including field topographic and bathymetric survey, wetland delineation, geomorphic evaluation, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, development of preliminary and final design plans, and construction phase services.
