The National September 11 Memorial & Museum

New York, NY

On behalf of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, VHB served as the parking and traffic consultant on a planning team that prepared the generic environmental impact statement (GEIS) for the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site that includes 10 million square feet of office space, one million square feet of retail space, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and a hotel and performing arts center, as well a transportation hub and underground vehicular security center and tour bus parking facility.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum honors the nearly 3,000 victims of the September 11 attacks at the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as well as those killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993. The memorial welcomed more than four million visitors during its first year.
