Lindeman Performing Arts Center at Brown University

Providence, RI

The new Brown University Performance Arts Center plans to be an “academic hub” for students to indulge in music, dance, theater, and multimedia arts during their studies on the College Hill campus. Construction has begun on the 92,000-square-foot building centered by “The Walk”, a north-south pedestrian corridor and greenspace between Angell and Olive Streets.

An essential element of the project centers around facilitating the modification of a part of Olive Street from a public way to a service spine, as well as finding solutions to challenges introduced along the way. Utility enabling, service and loading area design, a constrained and hilly slope, as well as managing highly ambitious stormwater goals have been successfully navigated by the team. Construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2023.
