Clients face major challenges related to climate change, shifting economics, and the need to build resilient infrastructure for their communities. The importance of incorporating climate resilience into transportation planning, design, maintenance and operations is becoming increasingly evident. Climate variability and severe weather events reduce the life span of transportation infrastructure and increase the duration and severity of operational disruptions during and after the event.

VHB provides comprehensive services that help clients respond to local, regional and national preparedness challenges. Within the last few years alone, we have worked with clients to develop more than a dozen climate action and sustainability plans, 10 greenhouse gas emission inventories and energy baseline assessments, and more than 100 LEED®-certifiable or -certified projects.

We take great pride in the development of plans and projects that enhance our clients’ capacity to effectively respond to these challenges and become recognized leaders on important sustainability issues.
