When Barnett Properties purchased this 24-acre site, they turned to VHB to advance their development goals. With longstanding relationships with state and local officials and a successful track record in Apex, our team worked with local stakeholders to successfully rezone the site from residential to commercial use. We also negotiated a developer’s agreement with the town to reimburse critical public infrastructure improvements, addressed site access and constraints, and delivered a successful roadway plan that focused on widening a major corridor to alleviate traffic congestion. Major infrastructure improvements included off-site sewer upgrades to serve Publix as well as a nearby residential development that included single family homes and townhouses. Publix Pointe currently features a total of 95,000-square-feet of retail and restaurant space.
